It's all about relationship...
with God, family and community
We believe that your life [and mine] is first of all about our relationship with God. The Christian journey may well begin with life’s most important questions: Who is God? Does God care? Does He love, and is He actively participating in people’s lives? Can I know Him? Is there a plan? Am I a part of it? How can I be sure that I am right about these things?
Did you notice the word “journey”? Jesus never meant for Christianity to be an event in one’s life, or a building, or institution, or even a private belief. Jesus wants friendship with you and me – and more than friendship… WFMC is striving to learn what it means to be on our life journey towards God and with God.
Life is also about relationship with family - church family and our family of origin (where we live)! Family (church and home) should be all about love, forgiveness, safeness, laughter and helping one another step into our full potential.
And life is about community. As we journey with God and our family, we also want to step into what it means to have a significant relationship with our communities: local, national and international communities. We are befriending our communities and becoming aware of what God is already up to; then, simply and prayerfully we are joining in! We’ve joined Him with vulnerable youth and adults downtown, dealing with human trafficking in our neighborhood, refugees, Haiti, at the food-bank weekly, in Kenya, with single young moms, in Niger, etc, etc!
There are many ways to connect at WFMC! There are Life Groups, sports, age level programming, music, drama, community involvement opportunities, counseling, support groups, prayer... The ultimate goal being that we could help further develop your relationship with God, family and community. You can jump right in or you can dip your toe in order to test the waters. Jesus said that "whoever drinks the water I give him will never be thirsty. Indeed the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life." Sounds like soul-satisfying water to jump into doesn't it?!
